<\/p>\nThis week, 13 students from the Critical Debate co-curricular at [Institut auf dem Rosenberg](https:\/\/edelweiss-panorama.ch\/institut-auf-dem-rosenberg\/) are preparing to step into one of the world\u2019s most esteemed academic settings \u2013 Oxford University \u2013 for the 2025 Model United Nations Conference. Over the course of three days, the students will engage in high-level debate, sharpen their negotiation and public speaking skills, and collaborate with peers from around the world to address pressing global issues. This experience is set to challenge them to think critically, develop leadership skills, and gain insight into international diplomacy, all while representing their school on a global stage. With the support and guidance of their Artisans, Mr. Hunt, Mr. Stainton, and Mr. Mahor, they have dedicated the past few weeks to research, preparation, and refining their arguments ahead of this weekend. Their time in Oxford is set to follow an impressive itinerary, designed to immerse them in both intellectual challenge and the university\u2019s rich academic tradition.<\/p>\n

The conference begins this Friday, 7th February, with the Opening Ceremony at the Oxford University Catholic Chaplaincy, a historic institution at the heart of the university. Delegates will take part in intensive training sessions on parliamentary procedure and debate strategy before heading to St Anne\u2019s and St Antony\u2019s Colleges for their first committee session. These historic colleges provide an inspiring backdrop for diplomatic discussions. Saturday will be dedicated to committee sessions at St Anne\u2019s and St Antony\u2019s Colleges, where students will take part in negotiations and workshops designed to refine their diplomacy, critical thinking, and leadership skills. The evening will provide a unique highlight \u2013 a Delegate Social at the Oxford Natural History Museum. Amidst the historic artefacts and grand architecture, students will have the opportunity to network with peers from around the world, exchanging ideas in an environment that embodies intellectual curiosity and discovery. The final committee session on Sunday morning will see students finalising their points and delivering concluding arguments. The conference is set to conclude with a Closing Ceremony at the Sheldonian Theatre, one of Oxford\u2019s most iconic venues, renowned for hosting some of the university\u2019s most distinguished academic events. Standing in this historic setting will no doubt be a memorable moment for all of the students, immersing themselves in the academic tradition of Oxford, an environment that has shaped some of history\u2019s greatest minds. La conf\u00e9rence d\u00e9bute ce vendredi 7 f\u00e9vrier par la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie d'ouverture \u00e0 l'aum\u00f4nerie catholique de l'universit\u00e9 d'Oxford, une institution historique au c\u0153ur de l'universit\u00e9. Les d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s participeront \u00e0 des sessions de formation intensive sur la proc\u00e9dure parlementaire et la strat\u00e9gie de d\u00e9bat avant de se rendre \u00e0 St Anne's et St Antony's Colleges pour leur premi\u00e8re session de commission. La soir\u00e9e sera marqu\u00e9e par un \u00e9v\u00e9nement unique : une soir\u00e9e des d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s au Mus\u00e9e d'histoire naturelle d'Oxford. Au milieu des artefacts historiques et de l'architecture grandiose, les \u00e9tudiants auront l'occasion de nouer des contacts avec des pairs du monde entier et d'\u00e9changer des id\u00e9es dans un environnement qui incarne la curiosit\u00e9 intellectuelle et la d\u00e9couverte. Lors de la derni\u00e8re session du comit\u00e9, le dimanche matin, les \u00e9tudiants finaliseront leurs points et pr\u00e9senteront leurs arguments finaux. La conf\u00e9rence se terminera par une c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de cl\u00f4ture au Sheldonian Theatre, l'un des lieux les plus embl\u00e9matiques d'Oxford, r\u00e9put\u00e9 pour accueillir certains des \u00e9v\u00e9nements acad\u00e9miques les plus prestigieux de l'universit\u00e9. Se tenir dans ce cadre historique sera sans aucun doute un moment m\u00e9morable pour tous les \u00e9tudiants, qui se plongeront dans la tradition acad\u00e9mique d'Oxford, un environnement qui a form\u00e9 certains des plus grands esprits de l'histoire.
