Students from around the globe come together, creating a vibrant international community. This week, Mimi, a Swiss Gap student from Japan, shared an array of Japanese treats with her peers and teachers. From sweet mochi to savory rice crackers, these snacks offered a taste of Japan&#8217;s rich culinary heritage. Mimi&#8217;s gesture not only delighted everyone but also sparked meaningful conversations about Japanese culture. Such moments underscore the importance of cultural exchange at Surval, where students gain global perspectives, forge lasting friendships, and develop a deep appreciation for the world&#8217;s diversity.<\/p>\n<p>The exploration of Swiss culture has been a highlight for the Winter Campers at Surval. Their journey took them to the historic towns of Bern and Neuch\u00e2tel, where they immersed themselves in Switzerland&#8217;s heritage. A standout experience was tasting Swiss fondue, a dish with centuries-old roots in the Swiss Alps. The campers learned about fondue&#8217;s role in fostering community and togetherness, a tradition they partook in themselves. Another memorable adventure was a visit to the Cailler Chocolate Factory, where the girls crafted their own chocolates, delving into the art and history of Swiss chocolate-making.
