Star Athlete Chooses TCU to Pursue Finance and Real Estate Studies

Anthony Nikoloff, a member of the Class of 2026 from the United States, has committed to Texas Christian University, where he will study Finance and Real Estate. His decision followed a rigorous college admissions process that included offers from 13 other institutions: the University of Denver, Arizona State University, ASU London, Northeastern University London, University of Utah, Hult International Business School, Rutgers University, City University London, University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Michigan State University, Colorado State University, University of Oregon, and Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. Anthony ultimately aspires to own and operate golf courses in Texas or become a real estate investor. A native English speaker, he learned Italian during his time at TASIS and capped off nine years at the school by earning an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. Beyond academics, Anthony was a standout four-sport competitor, representing the school on the Varsity Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball, and Track & Field teams. His exceptional athletic contributions were recognized at the Class of 2026 Commencement Ceremony, where he received the Male Athlete of the Year Award. Reflecting on his preparation for college, Anthony affirmed that his time at TASIS equipped him well. He noted that students learned to build meaningful friendships while balancing the stress and hard work required to maintain good grades. He credited his teachers with imparting valuable lessons and the knowledge needed to pass exams and succeed academically. The College Counseling Office also played a pivotal role in his journey. Anthony shared that his college counselors supported him through every decision, helping him navigate rejections and celebrate acceptances. Their encouragement, he said, was instrumental in his admission to an amazing university. When asked about the most inspiring experiences at TASIS, Anthony pointed to the Academic Travel trips. Traveling across Europe and to Thailand opened his eyes to different cultures and the beauty of various countries, helping him become more of a global citizen. He remarked, “Being able to go around all of Europe and to Thailand opened my eyes to all the different cultures and beauty of different countries.” Among his courses, Anthony will remember his Year 2 IB classes most fondly. Each class offered a distinct experience with different peers and taught him different aspects of the syllabus and the wider world. He particularly appreciated his economics class, where his teacher regularly shared recent news articles related to the subject, helping him understand how classroom learning applies in practice. As he looks ahead, Anthony will miss his friends the most. He described the transition as bittersweet—excited to move on but deeply missing every relationship he formed during his time at TASIS.
