Aiglon College is pleased to announce the appointment of Flora Meng as the new Associate Director of University Advising. With over a decade of experience in international education, Flora brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the global university landscape to her new role. Her career has been dedicated to guiding students through the complexities of higher education admissions, with a particular focus on helping them identify institutions that align with their academic strengths, personal goals, and cultural preferences. Flora’s expertise spans multiple educational systems, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) and A-Levels, and she has successfully supported students in gaining admission to top-tier universities across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Her appointment underscores Aiglon’s commitment to providing exceptional, personalized guidance to its students and their families as they navigate the increasingly competitive and diverse world of university admissions. Flora will work closely with Director Patience Fanella-Koch, who has led the department with distinction, to ensure that every student receives the tailored support they need to make informed decisions about their future. Together, they will continue to strengthen Aiglon’s reputation as a leader in holistic university preparation, fostering a culture of ambition, curiosity, and resilience among students.

In her new role, Flora will be responsible for delivering comprehensive university advising services, including one-on-one counseling sessions, parent workshops, and school-wide presentations on topics such as application strategies, financial aid, and essay writing. She will also collaborate with faculty and houseparents to integrate university readiness into the broader Aiglon experience, ensuring that students are academically and personally prepared for the transition to higher education. Flora’s approach is student-centered, emphasizing self-discovery and informed decision-making. She believes that the right university is not merely about rankings but about finding a community where a student can thrive intellectually, socially, and emotionally. Her previous roles have included positions at international schools in Switzerland and Asia, where she developed a reputation for her accessible, empathetic, and data-driven advising style. Patience Fanella-Koch, Director of University Advising, expressed her enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to welcome Flora to our team. Her extensive experience and genuine passion for student success will be invaluable as we continue to support our students in achieving their aspirations.” Flora will begin her tenure immediately, and she looks forward to meeting with students and parents to discuss their unique pathways. This addition to the University Advising Department reflects Aiglon’s ongoing investment in its students’ futures, ensuring that they are equipped with the tools, confidence, and global perspective needed to succeed in an ever-changing world.
