Les fondements des grandes idées

Au sein de Institut auf dem Rosenberg, scientific investigation recently met student-led design thinking through a cross-divisional collaboration exploring the future pathway connecting the car park, Primary School, Human X, and Schlössli. Environmental Studies II students presented a series of soil analyses conducted across the proposed route, examining fertility, composition, and suitability for plant growth to better understand how the pathway could be developed in harmony with the surrounding landscape. Their findings provided a scientific foundation for future planning, combining environmental awareness with practical fieldwork and data-driven research.

The presentations welcomed an audience of Grade 7 students, who last quarter worked alongside architects to develop their own concepts for the pathway, including design ideas and technological features intended to enhance the visitor experience. Joined by Grade 9 Combined Science students, the sessions became a valuable exchange of ideas across age groups and disciplines, with students discussing both the scientific findings and the creative thinking behind the proposals. Together, the project highlighted how scientific research, design thinking, and student imagination can contribute to shaping the future of the campus.
