Institut Montana Zugerberg Celebrates 100 Years: A Century of Excellence and Community

On 3 May 2026, Institut Montana Zugerberg marked a historic milestone: its 100-year anniversary. Under a bright sky with soft clouds, the campus on the Zugerberg came alive with celebration. Guests were welcomed by large blue balloon letters spelling ‘MONTANA’, while red and blue balloons added to the festive atmosphere. Hundreds of visitors arrived throughout the morning, joined by Zugiblubbi, the beloved mascot of the Zugerbergbahn, who also celebrated a birthday. The anniversary parcours guided attendees through engaging stations that brought the school’s past, present, and future to life. In the Chemistry Lab, fun hands-on experiments delighted visitors, while the cinema station showcased the “BECOMING” documentary movies featuring alumni. The “Montana Past” station offered a museum-like journey back to 1926, highlighting the school’s evolution and enduring legacy.

The celebration extended to Chalet Suisse, the vibrant center of co-curricular activities, where engineering and robotics activities captivated visitors of all ages. A Photobox station filled the air with laughter as guests took instant photos. A special highlight was the presence of Slavko Vranes, a former NBA player, who flew in to join the festivities alongside Nemanja Mišković, a former Serbian national player, and the new lead of the Montana Basketball Academy. Their professional skills and energy energized the basketball court. Throughout the day, guests enjoyed a variety of Swiss food in the Dining Hall and at the outdoor grill. At the end of the parcours, visitors who completed stamps on their maps could participate in a raffle for exciting rewards. The event attracted over a dozen local media outlets, including SRF, Tele 1, and Zuger Zeitung. Through decades of global challenges, Institut Montana has remained resilient, shaping future generations with innovation and community spirit.
