Music for the greater good: Musicians of all ages perform in charity concert for the Collège Champittet Foundation

The recent charity concert hosted by Collège Champittet was a testament to the school's dual commitment to fostering musical talent and supporting humanitarian causes. The event featured 63 performers from the school's community, ranging from music teachers to student instrumentalists and vocalists, including the children’s choir, women’s choir, and the school rock band. Held on 4 April in the school chapel, the concert offered a diverse musical program that spanned from Baroque to contemporary rock and pop, showcasing instruments like the flute, cello, organ, violin, piano, drums, guitar, marimba, and voice. The audience was treated to a variety of performances, including works by Bach and Debussy, traditional folk songs, and popular hits such as 'Despacito'. This event not only highlighted the musical prowess within the Collège Champittet community but also served as a platform for young performers to gain stage experience and confidence.

Beyond the celebration of music, the charity concert underscored the social purpose that is integral to the Collège Champittet ethos. The event raised over CHF 3,000 for the Collège Champittet Foundation, with proceeds directed towards providing study grants for children in Madagascar. This initiative reflects the school's broader commitment to making a positive impact beyond its campus. The concert was met with overwhelming support from the school community, with attendees praising the quality of the performances and the meaningful cause they supported. One concert-goer remarked on the impressive quality of the program and performances, expressing eagerness to attend future events. The success of the concert was a collective achievement, made possible by the dedication of performers, the generosity of the audience, and the hard work of organizers. It was a vivid demonstration of how art and altruism can come together to create something truly special.
