Talented Singer To Pursue Degree in Performance at Berklee College of Music

Sarah Isabel Mesaric ’25, a multilingual student fluent in English, Italian, Portuguese, German, and Spanish, has achieved remarkable success in her academic and extracurricular pursuits at TASIS. Her perfect application record—seven acceptances from prestigious institutions including Berklee College of Music, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and University of the Arts London—demonstrates the comprehensive preparation she received. Sarah excelled academically, earning perfect scores on three Advanced Placement exams (2-D Art and Design, German Language and Culture, and Italian Language and Culture) while successfully completing multiple International Baccalaureate courses. Her achievements extended beyond the classroom, where she became a standout athlete on the Varsity Tennis team, going undefeated in #1 doubles matches during her final two years and receiving the Coaches’ Award her senior year. In the performing arts, Sarah’s exceptional contributions in both drama and music earned her the Kay Hamblin Award for Excellence in Theater at graduation. Her selection to perform alongside professional entertainers at the 2024 TASIS Spring Gala highlighted her vocal talents and stage presence. Beyond these accomplishments, Sarah demonstrated leadership and global awareness through her Silver Level Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, peer tutoring program coordination, social media management for the Performing Arts Program, and service work in Zambia and Botswana through the Opsahl Global Service Program, where she later served on the student-directed GSP Board. This well-rounded profile illustrates the diverse opportunities available to students at TASIS for developing both academic excellence and personal growth.

When reflecting on her educational journey, Sarah emphasized how TASIS provided an environment that encouraged exploration and development of her talents in unexpected ways. She noted that the school helped build her confidence in public speaking and self-expression while allowing her to share artistic abilities within a supportive, diverse community. Sarah specifically highlighted how being surrounded by people from varied backgrounds broadened her perspective, making her more open-minded, adaptable, and curious about the world—qualities essential for success in higher education and beyond. Among her most inspiring experiences, Sarah recalled singing at the TASIS Spring Gala as the youngest performer, describing it as one of the most magical moments of her life that deepened her passion for music. She also fondly remembered teaching Italian to refugees through the 10th-grade Red Cross Service Learning group and her transformative Global Service Program trip to Zambia, where she contributed to local community projects. These experiences provided both inspiration and eye-opening perspectives on global citizenship. Academically, Sarah will remember her four years of German studies most fondly, along with the continuous support from the entire Performing Arts Department throughout her TASIS career. When considering what she will miss most, Sarah identified the TASIS community itself, noting that after 11 years, the school had become her home and would always represent an important chapter in her life. While she will miss the beautiful campus, she humorously acknowledged she won't miss the daily workout of navigating the campus stairs—a testament to the authentic connections students form with their learning environment.
