At Collège Champittet, ensuring every new student and family feels an immediate sense of belonging is a cornerstone of the school's philosophy. This commitment was beautifully exemplified on August 16th during the annual Welcome Day, a dedicated event designed to seamlessly integrate new day and boarding school students into the vibrant Collège Champittet community. The morning commenced with a formal introduction to the Boarding House by its Director, Ms. Tiziana Patella, providing families with a comprehensive overview of the supportive and enriching residential environment. This was followed by a warm and inspiring welcome address from the Head of School, Mr. Philippe de Korodi, who officially greeted the new joiners and set a positive tone for the academic year ahead. The event was meticulously structured to offer both information and reassurance, allowing families to begin their journey with confidence and excitement.
Following the initial presentations, the event transitioned into an interactive and engaging fair held in the College's picturesque gardens. A current student proudly presented the impactful global trips and humanitarian initiatives spearheaded by the Collège Champittet Foundation, highlighting the school's dedication to fostering global citizenship. Simultaneously, representatives from the active Parent Association (APEC) were on hand to explain their role and the myriad of community-building activities they organize throughout the year. While parents were guided on informative campus tours by the Deans and had the opportunity to meet their children's future teachers, the youngest learners from preschool to Grade 2 were immersed in hands-on, outdoor learning experiences at the school's Forest School. The day concluded with a convivial buffet lunch, providing an invaluable opportunity for new and existing community members to mingle, socialize, and form the foundational bonds that characterize the Champittet spirit.
