Since joining the school in 2018, Ms. Hand has not only excelled in her teaching role but also taken on additional responsibilities as the team leader for grades four and five and a High School dorm parent. Her commitment to fostering a nurturing and challenging learning environment has made a significant impact on her students and the wider school community. The award, announced by Headmaster Christopher Nikoloff, recognizes her exceptional dedication to teaching, her innovative approach to education, and her ability to inspire a love of learning in her students. Ms. Hand's teaching philosophy, which emphasizes meeting individual student needs and encouraging personal growth, aligns perfectly with the values the Khan-Page Award represents.

The Khan-Page Master Teacher Award is a prestigious recognition named after two legendary educators, Akbar Khan and Max P. Page, who left a lasting legacy at TASIS. Established in 2009, the award honors teachers who demonstrate excellence in pedagogy, a deep commitment to their subject area, and the ability to inspire students. Funded by the TASIS Board of Directors as part of the M. Crist Fleming Endowment, the award includes a monetary prize of CHF 5,000. Eligibility requires at least five years of service at TASIS, ensuring that recipients have a profound understanding of the school's ethos. Past recipients have come from a variety of disciplines, highlighting the award's inclusivity and the school's appreciation for diverse teaching talents. The 2020 award was uniquely presented to the entire faculty in recognition of their collective resilience and dedication during challenging times.
