Champittet College Celebrates Global Unity with Vibrant First International Day

The Collège Champittet community recently came together to celebrate its rich multicultural identity with its inaugural International Day. Organized by APEC, the school's Parent Association, the event on Friday, August 22nd, was a vibrant showcase of the over 50 nationalities represented within the student body. The day was filled with color, music, and pride as students, staff, and parents adorned traditional clothing representing their home countries. A particular highlight was the primary school parade, where young students joyfully danced to world rhythms, setting a festive tone for the celebrations. The campus was transformed into a global stage, with culinary specialities and music from across the globe proudly on display, beautifully illustrating the school's commitment to its international ethos.

In the afternoon, the festivities moved to the football pitch, which had been creatively converted into an immersive international village. Secondary and boarding students took enthusiastic ownership of approximately 20 country-specific stands. At these interactive stations, they shared their cultural heritage through traditional games and samples of local cuisine, offering a hands-on learning experience for all. Younger students embarked on a global 'journey,' collecting stamps in their special International Day passports by engaging with each stand and answering fun quizzes. This event, held following the traditional back-to-school barbecue, served as a perfect welcome for new families. It underscored the vital role of APEC in strengthening the Collège Champittet community by building bridges between students, families, and school leadership through a wide array of activities throughout the year.
