Music for the greater good: Musicians of all ages perform in charity concert for the Collège Champittet Foundation

The recent charity concert hosted by Collège Champittet was a testament to the school's dual commitment to fostering musical talent and supporting humanitarian causes. With 63 performers from the school community, including music teachers, student instrumentalists and vocalists, children’s choir, women’s choir, and the school rock band, the event showcased a wide range of musical styles and instruments. The concert, held in the school chapel on 4 April, featured a diverse program that spanned from Baroque classics to contemporary pop hits, engaging the audience with performances of works by Bach and Debussy, traditional folk songs, and popular tunes like 'Despacito'. This event not only highlighted the musical prowess within the Collège Champittet community but also served as a platform for young performers to gain confidence and experience on stage.

Beyond the celebration of music, the charity concert was a significant fundraiser for the Collège Champittet Foundation, raising over CHF 3,000 to support study grants for children in Madagascar. The event underscored the school's philanthropic spirit, bringing together students, families, and staff for an evening that combined artistic enjoyment with social purpose. Audience members were deeply moved by the quality of the performances and the collective effort to contribute to a meaningful cause, with many expressing their intention to return for future events. The success of the concert reflects the strong sense of community and shared values at Collège Champittet, where education extends beyond academics to include personal growth and social responsibility.
