Our Sustainable Initiatives at Collège du Léman

At Collège du Léman, we are deeply committed to fostering an eco-responsible environment, aligning with our mission to shape generations that harness differences to change the world for the better. This commitment is evident in our student-led initiatives, particularly through the Environmental Association (EA), a dynamic group under the guidance of Delphine Ross, our Sustainability Project Leader. The EA has pioneered the Eco-Ambassador programme, empowering students to spread eco-friendly practices across our campus. Their dedication extends to animal welfare, collaborating with Geneva's BioParc to enhance habitats and educate on rare species. A landmark achievement was the introduction of the Green Cord at our 2023 graduation, recognizing students' leadership in sustainability efforts. Additionally, our partnership with Coucoudre, a local charity, underscores our commitment to reducing fast-fashion impact by promoting textile repair and recycling. These initiatives reflect our holistic approach to sustainability, engaging students, staff, and the wider community in meaningful environmental stewardship.

Our sustainability efforts are further amplified through innovative programs like the Sustainable Fashion Show, which showcased upcycled and thrifted fashion, challenging the norms of the fast-fashion industry. This event not only highlighted creative reuse but also inspired our community to adopt more sustainable lifestyle choices. In collaboration with Re-Circle, we've introduced a zero-waste initiative at the Panthers' Cafeteria, significantly reducing single-use containers and cups. Our boarding students actively participate in bi-annual Lake Geneva clean-ups, contributing to the preservation of this natural treasure. Moreover, the integration of the Climate Fresk workshops into our curriculum has empowered both teachers and students with critical knowledge on climate change, fostering a culture of awareness and action. These collective efforts underscore our unwavering commitment to a greener, more sustainable future, demonstrating how education can be a powerful catalyst for environmental change.
