Celebrating our Student of the Year

This year, Surval proudly honored Catalina, a Grade 10 student from Panama, as the Student of the Year. Catalina, a second-generation Survalienne, has exemplified the school's values through her kindness, integrity, and compassion. Her contributions to the school community, from supporting her peers to capturing the essence of school life through her photography, have been invaluable. Catalina's talent for photography, which began as a hobby, has flourished into a significant skill, earning her the Photography Prize. Her images, filled with emotion and storytelling, now grace the school's brochures and online platforms. Additionally, her passion for sports and her willingness to help others on the slopes were recognized with the Sports Prize. Catalina's positivity, creativity, and leadership have left an indelible mark on the Surval community.

In her Vote of Thanks, Catalina expressed her gratitude to the Surval community, including special speakers Amalia and Mrs. Lopez from Mexico, for their support and kindness. She reflected on her time at Surval, highlighting the beautiful memories and experiences she shared with her peers, from swimming in the lake to skiing down mountains. Catalina thanked the staff for creating a home away from home for the students, providing them with a safe and supportive environment. She also celebrated the senior class of 2025, acknowledging each member's unique contributions and the joy they brought to the school. As the school photographer, Catalina cherished the opportunity to capture the growth and friendships within the community through her lens. Her heartfelt speech and photographs serve as a testament to the power of gratitude, connection, and shared experiences at Surval.
