Institut Montana Zugerberg Launches Elite Basketball Academy for Young Athletes

Institut Montana Zugerberg has announced the launch of its Montana Basketball Academy (MBA), a high-performance co-curricular programme set to begin this September. The Academy is designed to help young athletes excel both on and off the court, offering elite basketball training combined with athletic performance development and mental conditioning. Open to all students aged 10-18, including those who do not attend Institut Montana Zugerberg, the programme creates an environment where participants can grow as athletes, leaders, and individuals. The Academy is led by Nemanja Miskovic, a former Serbian national team player with extensive experience at the highest levels of the game. Since moving to Switzerland in 2022, Miskovic has built a strong reputation in youth basketball, having served as Sports Director at one of Zurich's largest clubs and founding Skills Academy CH, the first specialised basketball academy in German-speaking Switzerland. His comprehensive training approach integrates technical basketball skills with athletic performance and mental preparation, drawing on his professional career alongside NBA Champion Nikola Jokić, Bogdan Bogdanović, Boban Marjanović, and Vasilije Micić, as well as coaching under respected European mentors like Aleksandar Trifunović and Duško Vujošević.

The Montana Basketball Academy is built on a holistic philosophy, recognising that success in sport extends beyond physical ability. Players will develop shooting, ball handling, footwork, and game intelligence while also improving strength, speed, agility, focus, resilience, discipline, and confidence. Training sessions take place both on the Institut Montana campus and at professional basketball facilities in Zug, providing participants with an inspiring, high-performance environment that mirrors the demands of competitive sport. The programme is designed to nurture each student's talent through personalised development pathways, develop advanced basketball and athletic performance skills, build confidence and a competitive mindset, foster leadership and teamwork, and provide a structured pathway for aspiring student-athletes. The Academy is open to all students aged 10-18, with training conducted in English and German. Fees vary by age group, ranging from CHF 3000 to CHF 6000 per year. For more information about registration and costs, interested families are encouraged to visit the Montana Basketball Academy page on the school's website.
