In the analysis below, we review the outstanding work done by TASIS students on the May 2026 International Baccalaureate® (IB) exam session. We wish to congratulate the 46 students who sat for at least one IB exam this spring, the first-rate teachers who guided our IB Diploma candidates through two demanding years, and everyone else who provided support along the way, including International Baccalaureate Coordinator and High School Academic Dean Katherine Anderson, Headmaster Christopher Nikoloff, Head of High School Dr. Mark Abisi, Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Coordinator Anthony Panontin, Extended Essay Coordinator Dan Kirsch, and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) Coordinator Mara Bernasconi. “We are delighted to celebrate another year of exceptional IB results,” said Dr. Abisi. “These results are not simply a measure of academic achievement. They reflect months of perseverance, disciplined effort, and a willingness to embrace significant intellectual challenge. The IB Diploma Programme asks extraordinary things of young people, and our students have met that challenge with resilience, determination, and resolve. Their success is also a tribute to the outstanding faculty who guided and inspired them throughout their journey and to the families whose encouragement and partnership made these achievements possible. We are immensely proud of all they have accomplished.”
Here are some of the key takeaways from this year’s exams: A PERFECT IB DIPLOMA PASS RATE: All 25 candidates passed their exams and earned an International Baccalaureate Diploma, marking the fourth time in the past six years that TASIS students have achieved a 100 percent pass rate. AVERAGE DIPLOMA SCORE TOPS WORLD AVERAGE BY 3.32 POINTS: The average score posted by the 25 students who earned an IB Diploma was 34.20, and the five-year average for TASIS students now stands at 34.32. The average score for the 209,607 candidates who sat for exams in May 2026 was 30.88, a figure that TASIS students bettered by 3.32 points. Class of 2026 Salutatorian Katerina Rodostianos led the way with a remarkable score of 44 while Anastasia Sozanovska (43), Mikhail Batyrev (42), Alessia Primo (42), and Sofiya Krikunchik (40) also topped the 40-point mark. This means that 20 percent of TASIS candidates scored in the 40s compared to approximately 11.5 percent of candidates worldwide. BILINGUAL DIPLOMAS AWARDED TO 9 STUDENTS: Internationalism and multilingualism continue to be pillars of the TASIS student body. Of the 25 TASIS candidates, 36 percent earned an IB Bilingual Diploma—meaning their first language (Language A) is not English or they have completed two language A courses. AVERAGE SUBJECT EXAM SCORE IS 5.34: All subject exams are scored on a 1–7 scale.
