On January 22nd, the ski team from Le Rosey experienced an exceptional training session on the slalom piste at Huble, guided by former World Cup skier Ana Jelušić. Throughout the afternoon, Jelušić worked closely with students, offering personalized technical advice and immediate feedback on their performance. Her expertise, honed from years of competing at the highest levels of alpine skiing, provided invaluable insights into refining technique, mastering turns, and optimizing speed on challenging slopes. The session was not only a rigorous athletic endeavor but also an immersive learning opportunity, blending practical skill development with professional mentorship. Students engaged directly with Jelušić’s methods, applying her guidance to enhance their form and confidence on the piste. This collaboration underscored Le Rosey’s commitment to providing world-class extracurricular experiences that complement its academic excellence, fostering both athletic prowess and personal growth. The training exemplified how elite coaching can elevate student performance, offering a rare glimpse into the discipline and precision required at the professional level. As the afternoon progressed, the focus remained on technical refinement, with Jelušić emphasizing the nuances of slalom skiing that distinguish top competitors. Her hands-on approach ensured that each participant received tailored support, making the session both challenging and rewarding. This event highlighted the dynamic opportunities available at Le Rosey, where students regularly benefit from interactions with accomplished professionals across various fields.
Following the intensive training, the afternoon concluded with a warm hot chocolate break, where Ana Jelušić shared inspiring stories from her journey as an athlete. She recounted her experience as the youngest competitor at the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, offering students a firsthand perspective on the dedication, resilience, and passion required to excel on the global stage. Her narrative touched on the challenges and triumphs of a professional skiing career, providing motivational insights that extended beyond the slopes. This informal discussion allowed students to connect with Jelušić on a personal level, reinforcing the values of perseverance and ambition that are central to Le Rosey’s educational philosophy. The school looks forward to welcoming Jelušić again in June during EduFest Le Rosey, an event that promises to further enrich the student experience with diverse cultural and athletic engagements. Such initiatives reflect Le Rosey’s holistic approach to education, which integrates academic rigor with extracurricular excellence to nurture well-rounded individuals. By hosting figures like Jelušić, the school continues to inspire its community, demonstrating how real-world achievements can inform and elevate student aspirations. The session not only enhanced athletic skills but also fostered a deeper appreciation for the journey of professional athletes, aligning with Le Rosey’s mission to cultivate leadership and global citizenship. As Edelweiss Panorama International (EPI), we are proud to support Le Rosey in delivering these transformative experiences, which exemplify the innovative and collaborative spirit of our partnership.
